Student records (admissions, contact details, registration, progress, examination, transcripts) are managed through CamSIS. All students have access to their own student record through their online Self-Service account. It is a function of the Student Registry to keep the record up to date, but you need to supply the information.
You should use CamSIS to:
- maintain up to date contact/personal information;
- access application procedures and forms relating to your academic and personal life (change in student circumstances);
- read your supervision reports;
- access/request academic transcript.
If you need a proof of study letter - contact the Student Registry.
Changes to your student record
It is crucial that you keep the University informed of any changes to your circumstances, in advance where possible.
Applications for change in student status are considered in turn by your supervisor, Department, College, Degree Committee and finally Student Registry, who will make the final decision and inform you of the outcome of your application. There are well defined procedures to follow and application forms to use if you need:
- a break from study for illness or other reasons (intermission)
- to undertake essential fieldwork/research, or an integral internship or language training, outside the University (Leave to work away)
- to work while you study
- to write up your thesis, or complete corrections after examination, outside of Cambridge (Leave to work away)
- to extend your submission date
- to change from full-time to part-time study or vice versa (Change mode of study)
- to change course registration from one degree to another
- to change Department/Faculty
- to change Supervisor
- to withdraw from study
- to be reinstated
- an allowance or exemption of research terms
- an exemption from the University Composition Fee
